I’m really not sure how I feel about this movie. I think they do a great job with making you feel uncomfortable with the story in the character development. I think they do a great job with showing the young guy getting more and more out of control the deeper he goes. And I do think that this is an interesting movie. However, it was very slow and I felt like it was way longer than it needed to be. I also feel like the ending left me wanting more and I felt more frustrated with how it ended versus anything else. I also do not think this is a movie that needs to be seen in theaters and can be waited for till streaming.

Really interesting debut, there’s a lot of potential here for future projects.

The story itself is one that’s been delved into many times in films, more recently Saltburn - which funnily enough Archie Madekwe was in too. But here there’s an interesting angle from clinging to a celebrity and exploring “fandom”. I liked the handheld footage, and when films about singers actually have original music, so there’s a few wins there.

Théodore Pellerin was really good here. He’s done some good work in the supporting space so was great to see him upfront. Always pleased to see Archie Madekwe, it seems as though he’s finally popping up in more and more, ditto for Havana Rose Liu. Big follower of Sunny Suljic too - so another great appearance.

Very much looking forward to seeing what Alex Russell does next, no doubt he’ll be taken seriously as a talent with whatever he conjures next.
