A difficult watch in some parts because of Ray’s treatment towards Colin. I understand it is a BDSM relationship but there was basically no consent involved. There was some comedic relief however and the acting was brilliant.

i was so upset at how ray just left him like that after giving him a day off it literally felt like giving a dog chocolate before putting it down tbh it might take me a few days to get over that but i loved that in the end collin found someone who wanted the same things as him

Whilst having plenty of nice, heart-warming scenes throughout, most of the runtime is spent being overly invasive in the goings-on of a couple that I found limited relevance in seeing.
It’s insightful and bewilderingly interesting to see how some choose to live and fulfil their fantasies, and whilst some don’t like having sex in films - I’m not against it, but there was an overwhelming amount here. There are a lot of lovely moments as you go on, and the film maintains a steady level of humour that counteracts the often uncomfortable BDSM acts as Colin comes to understand what’s he’s gotten himself into.
Both the leading men do excellent jobs, Skarsgård has already shown his leading man potential - so it was fantastic to see the same from Harry Melling who was absolutely incredible here. There’s multitudes within his performance that take a very special kind of actor to pull off.
Maybe not fully my type of film, it really felt like being a fly on the wall of a house you don’t especially want to see - but at the same time you’re quite unable to look away…

I’m confused if I actually liked this or not. A very weird movie that is in between showing bad representation of BDSM and showing just a really random character who is just like that and their “love”. I really would have liked to see more of Rays background and how he got there.
