The Ballad of Wallis Island

7/10 Good story, liked the songs and acoustic guitar. A nice winter film to cosy up and watch on the couch. Recommend.

It’s sweet, it’s charming, and it gets emotional.

Such a great watch. Equal parts charmingly funny and moving, this film really hit me in a way I didn’t expect. From the absolutely killer soundtrack to the superb performances, I loved every moment. It was sweet, sad, longing, hopeful, and every other adjective you could read about a good indie movie.

It reminded me a lot of The Holdovers in that it was so comforting and original. Can’t recommend enough.

Cute movie, plodding around this remote island. Had some genuinely funny bits. Nice music.
