("Queue," "we," "us," or "our") provides this Privacy Policy to describe how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with the Queue mobile applications, the Queue website at queue.co, the Queue newsletter, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Services. Where a provision applies only to a particular surface, such as our website or our mobile applications, that limitation is stated expressly.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account registration and authentication
To create a Queue account, you must provide a valid email address. Accounts created on Queue are authenticated by means of a single-use link or code transmitted to the email address associated with your account (a "Magic Link"). Magic Links expire after a limited period and may be used only once.
A limited number of accounts created before we adopted Magic Link authentication use a password. Where an account uses a password, we store that password only in hashed form and it is never accessible to us in readable form.
Queue automatically generates a display name for each new account. You may modify your display name at any time in your account settings. Your display name is publicly visible in connection with any review, rating, or list you publish.
Where you elect to authenticate using a third-party identity provider, including Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and an email address from that provider. Where you elect to use Apple's Hide My Email service, we receive a private relay address in place of your personal email address and treat that relay address as your account email address for all purposes.
1.2 Information you provide to us
In addition to the information described above, you may choose to provide us with:
- Profile information, including a profile image, biography, or other optional profile fields
- Information you submit when you contact us, request support, participate in a survey, enter a promotion, or subscribe to a newsletter
- Any other information you elect to submit through the Services
1.3 Content you create
The Services allow you to create watchlists, rate titles, write reviews, build and publish lists, and interact with content and other users. We collect and store this content in association with your account. Certain of this content is public by default. See Section 4.
1.4 Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device and connection data, including Internet Protocol address, device type and model, operating system and version, browser type and language, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and mobile network information
- Usage data, including pages and screens viewed, features used, search queries, referring pages, and the dates and times of your requests
- Approximate location, derived from your Internet Protocol address
- Diagnostic data, including crash reports and performance logs
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to collect certain of this information. See Section 7.
1.5 Mobile device permissions
Our mobile applications may request permission to access certain features of your device. You may decline any of these permissions and continue to use the Services, although certain features will be unavailable.
- Photos. If you grant access to your photo library, we access it solely to the extent necessary to set an image you select as your profile image.
- Contacts. If you grant access to your contacts, we use it solely to identify which of your contacts also use Queue.
- Notifications. If you grant permission to send notifications, we use it to deliver notifications relevant to your interests on Queue.
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device settings.
1.6 Information from third parties
We receive information from service providers who assist us in operating the Services, including our hosting, analytics, email delivery, and advertising providers. We also receive limited information from the Apple App Store and Google Play regarding application installations and, where applicable, age category signals.
2. How We Use Information
We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including creating and administering your account and authenticating you
- To store and display the watchlists, ratings, reviews, and lists you create
- To personalize your experience within the Services, including recommending titles based on your activity within Queue
- To communicate with you regarding your account, including service announcements, security notices, and responses to your inquiries
- To send you newsletters and promotional communications
- To select and serve advertising within the Services, including on the basis of your activity within Queue.
- To measure and analyze usage of the Services in order to improve them and develop new features
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
- To comply with applicable law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
3. Your Viewing Information
Queue allows you to track, rate, review, and organize movies, television programs, and videos. We treat information regarding the specific titles you view, save, rate, or review with particular care, and the federal Video Privacy Protection Act may apply to such information.
We do not disclose to any third party information identifying you as an individual as having requested, viewed, saved, rated, or reviewed any particular title, for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose.
Titles associated with content you elect to make public, such as a published review or a public list, are visible to others as a consequence of your own decision to publish them, and nothing in this section restricts that.
4. Public Content and Profile Visibility
4.1 What is public
Queue is public by default, the following information is publicly visible to other users of the Services and, on our website, may be visible to visitors who are not signed in:
- Your display name and profile image
- Reviews and ratings you publish
- Your interactions on titles
- Lists you designate as public
- Aggregate statistics regarding your activity, such as the number of titles you have logged
4.2 Search engines
Content published on the Queue website may be indexed by third-party search engines and may therefore appear in search results.
4.3 Your controls
You may edit or delete any review, rating, or list at any time. You may change the visibility of any custom list. You may change your display name at any time.
We recommend that you consider carefully what information you elect to make public. Content that has been publicly available may have been copied, cached, or indexed by third parties, and we cannot compel the removal of such copies.
5. How We Share Information
We share information in the following circumstances and not otherwise.
5.1 Service providers
We share information with third parties that perform services on our behalf, including hosting and content delivery, analytics, email delivery, error monitoring, and customer support. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us and are bound by contractual obligations to protect it.
The service providers we currently use include, but are not limited to:
- Amazon Web Services
- Google Firebase
- Sentry Error Logging
- Google (advertising and analytics, as described in Sections 6 and 7)
5.2 Advertising partners
We share limited information with advertising partners as described in Section 6.
5.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, to enforce our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, to detect or prevent fraud or security issues, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Queue, our users, or the public.
5.4 Business transfers
If Queue is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, information about our users may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require any acquirer to continue to handle such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and we will provide notice of any material change in practices resulting from such a transaction.
5.5 With your direction
We share information with third parties where you direct us to do so, including when you use a feature of the Services to share content to a third-party platform.
5.6 Aggregate and de-identified information
We may use and disclose aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, without restriction. Where we de-identify information, we maintain it in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. Certain of our advertising practices may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state privacy laws. See Section 6.3, which describes those practices and how to opt out.
6. Advertising
6.1 How advertising works on Queue
The Services are supported in part by advertising. We serve advertising by two means.
Directly sold advertising. We may sell advertising inventory directly to partners, including ticketing and distribution partners. Directly sold advertising is served by us and may be selected by reference to the general context in which it appears or to your activity within Queue. We do not disclose to these partners the identity of the users to whom their advertising was shown.
Google advertising services. We serve advertising through Google AdMob in our mobile applications and Google AdSense on our website. Google may use information it collects across its own services and across other websites and applications, including cookies and device advertising identifiers, to select advertising it believes is relevant to you. This information is collected and held by Google, and is not provided to Google by us. We do not supply Google with your Queue account identifier, your email address, or any information about the titles you view, save, rate, or review. Advertising served through Google's services uses cookies, device advertising identifiers, and similar technologies for the selection and measurement of advertising, for frequency capping, and for fraud prevention.
Information regarding Google's advertising practices is available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6.2 What advertising partners receive
Advertising partners receive only such technical information as is necessary to deliver and measure an advertisement, including your Internet Protocol address, device and browser characteristics, approximate location, and the address of the page on which the advertisement appears.
We do not disclose to any advertising partner your Queue account identifier, your email address, any hashed or encoded derivative of your email address, or any other identifier that would allow the partner to associate an advertisement with you as a specific Queue user.
6.3 Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, because we serve advertising through Google's advertising services, online identifiers such as cookie identifiers, device advertising identifiers, and Internet Protocol address may be disclosed to Google and used to select advertising based on your activity across other websites and applications. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and comparable state privacy laws, these practices may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or processing for "targeted advertising." You may opt out at any time by any of the following means:
- The Privacy and cookie settings link in the footer of the Queue website, available to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, which may be used to review and change your choices at any time
- The Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of the Queue website, available to users in US states with applicable privacy laws
- Global Privacy Control, which we honor as a valid opt-out request (see Section 8)
- The tracking controls provided by your mobile operating system, including App Tracking Transparency on iOS and Ads Settings on Android
When you opt out, we instruct Google to serve non-personalized advertising and to apply restricted data processing to your requests. Advertising will continue to appear, but it will be selected by reference to the context in which it appears rather than to a profile of your activity.
6.4 Minors
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of any individual under sixteen (16) years of age. We do not serve personalized advertising to any user we know to be under eighteen (18) years of age.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
7.1 What cookies are
A cookie is a small data file placed on your device by a website. We also use related technologies, including browser local storage and pixel tags, that perform comparable functions. References in this section to cookies include such related technologies.
Our mobile applications do not use cookies. Comparable functions in our applications are performed by device identifiers and local storage, which are governed by the tracking controls provided by your mobile operating system.
7.2 Categories of cookies we use
Strictly Necessary. Required for the operation of the Services, including authentication, session management, security, and recording your privacy preferences. These cookies cannot be disabled through the Services. You may block them through your browser settings, in which case the Services will not function correctly.
Analytics. Used to understand how users interact with the Services so that we can measure and improve performance. Where required by applicable law, these cookies are set only with your consent.
Functional. Used to retain preferences you have expressed, including language selection.
Advertising. Used by our advertising partners to select, deliver, and measure advertising, including advertising selected on the basis of your activity across other websites and applications, and for frequency capping and fraud prevention. Where required by applicable law, these cookies are set only with your consent.
7.3 Managing your preferences
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, non-essential cookies are set only after you have given consent. You may review and change your choices at any time using the Privacy and cookie settings link in the footer of the Queue website. Withdrawal of consent takes effect prospectively and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
If you are located in a US state with applicable privacy laws, you may opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of the Queue website.
Wherever you are located, you may configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being set. If you refuse cookies altogether, certain features of the Services will not function.
8. Browser Privacy Signals
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal. When we receive a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and we apply that preference to that browser.
Do Not Track. "Do Not Track" is a separate and older browser signal for which no common industry standard has been adopted. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals. This does not affect our handling of Global Privacy Control signals, which we do honor.
9. Email and Newsletters
If you subscribe to a Queue newsletter, we use your email address to deliver it. Our newsletters are sent in identical form to all subscribers within a given edition. We do not segment or target newsletter content or newsletter advertising based on the titles you view, save, rate, or review.
Our newsletters contain advertising sold by us to sponsors. Sponsors receive aggregate performance information only, such as total sends, total opens, and total clicks. Sponsors do not receive subscriber lists, individual subscriber identities, or individual-level engagement data.
Our newsletters and other marketing emails may contain pixel tags that allow us to determine whether a message has been opened and whether links have been followed. We use this information to measure the performance of our communications.
You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link contained in every such message, or by contacting us. We will continue to send you non-promotional messages relating to your account, such as security and service notices, and you cannot opt out of these while maintaining an account.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Account information and the content you create, including your watchlists, ratings, lists, and reviews, are retained for the life of your account and are deleted when you delete your account, as described in Section 11.
Authentication tokens expire shortly after issuance or upon use, whichever occurs first. Server and security logs are retained for a limited period sufficient to investigate security and abuse issues. Analytics data is retained for a period sufficient to identify usage trends over time. Newsletter subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe, after which we retain your email address on a suppression list solely in order to honor your request.
Where we are required to retain information in order to comply with applicable law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, we retain it for the period required for that purpose and no longer.
11. Deleting Your Account
You may delete your Queue account at any time from your account settings. Upon confirmation, deletion is executed immediately and is irreversible. We are not able to restore a deleted account or its contents.
Deletion of your account permanently removes your profile, display name, profile image, watchlists, ratings, lists, and all reviews you have published. Published reviews are deleted and are not retained in anonymized or aggregated form.
Where deleted information persists temporarily within routine encrypted backups, it is isolated from any further processing and is overwritten in the ordinary course of our backup cycle.
We may retain a limited record of the fact of deletion, together with any information we are required to retain in order to comply with applicable law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Requesting a copy of your data. You may request a copy of the personal information associated with your account by contacting us at info@queue.co. We will provide it in a commonly used, machine-readable format within the period required by applicable law.
12. Security
We maintain technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting personnel access to personal information.
Accounts authenticated by Magic Link have no password, and accordingly no password exists for those accounts that could be compromised in a security incident. Where an account created prior to our adoption of Magic Link authentication uses a password, that password is stored only in hashed form.
No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we do not warrant absolute security. In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will provide notice to you and to the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
13. Children and Teenage Users
The Services are not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under thirteen has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@queue.co and we will delete that information. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen, we will delete it.
Users between the ages of thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who has accepted our Terms of Service on their behalf.
For users we know to be under the age of eighteen (18), we do not serve personalized advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising or for profiling.
Where the Apple App Store or Google Play provides us with an age category signal indicating that a user is a minor, we act on that signal in accordance with applicable law.
14. Your Privacy Rights
14.1 Rights available to you
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and retain about you

We will respond within forty-five (45) days. Where reasonably necessary, we may extend that period by an additional forty-five (45) days and will notify you of the extension.
14.3 Appeals

We will respond to your appeal within forty-five (45) days, or within sixty (60) days where required by the law of your state. If we deny your appeal, you may submit a complaint to your state Attorney General.
14.4 California
California residents have the rights described above under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. In addition, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes.
We collect the categories of personal information described in Section 1, from the sources and for the purposes described in Sections 1 and 2, and we disclose those categories to the recipients described in Sections 5 and 6. We retain personal information for the periods described in Section 10.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Accordingly, we are not required to offer, and do not offer, a separate right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
14.5 Nevada
Nevada residents may submit a verified request directing us not to sell covered information as defined under Nevada law. We do not sell covered information as so defined. Such requests may be submitted to info@queue.co.

Your rights. You have the right to access your personal data, to request its correction or erasure, to request restriction of processing, to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, and to receive your personal data in a portable format. Where we process your personal data on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. 16. International Data Transfers
Queue is established in the United States, and our servers and the servers of our principal service providers are located in the United States. When you use the Services, your personal information is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as the country in which you reside.
Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to the United States or to any other country not the subject of an adequacy decision, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, and, for transfers originating in the United Kingdom, on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
17. YouTube API Services
Queue uses YouTube API Services to enable users to search for, view metadata regarding, and interact with publicly available YouTube videos within the Services.
Data accessed. We access only publicly available information from YouTube, including video titles, descriptions, thumbnails, channel names, and other publicly available video metadata. We do not require you to sign in to a YouTube account, and we do not access, collect, store, or process any personal data associated with your YouTube account.
Use of YouTube data. We use public YouTube data solely to display search results, to allow you to add videos to watchlists or lists within Queue, and to allow you to rate or review videos within Queue. We do not modify YouTube content, do not enable downloading of YouTube videos, and do not use YouTube data for advertising, profiling, or personalization.
Sharing. We do not share YouTube API data with third parties and do not associate YouTube data with individual YouTube accounts.
Google's terms. Your use of these features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service at youtube.com/t/terms. Google's Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. Where the changes are material, we will provide additional notice, which may include notice within the Services or by email to the address associated with your account.
