Lady Snowblood

This movie is incredibly ass. They literally did everything in their power to make this movie lame and dissatisfying.
The daughter and son were pointless characters with no development. Bad guys were uninteresting
At least she’s attractive.
Every revenge movie sucks, why? Why?!

This is the second piece of Oriental Cinema Quentin Tarantino has appropriated to it’s so called 10 films/masterpieces making me wonder what he has truly done or written that it’s entirely his creation…

A highly stylised, action packed, topsy turvy phenomenal piece of film, Lady Snowblood packs a swarm of punches worth of quality, every single chapter brings something uniquely amazing to not only the film, but the genre as a whole, Lady Snowblood is a complete badass and deserves to be on the Mount Rushmore of Samurais.

—SPECIAL TREATMENT—

Chapter One: Vengeance Binds Love And Hate 9.3/10 (The origin is so well done, from even the opening scene, just wish the dialogue was a bit more concise.)

Chapter Two: Crying Bamboo Dolls Of The Netherworlds 9.5/10 (Has my least favourite part of the movie, but also my favourite moment, so balances itself.)

Chapter Three: Umbrella Of Blood, Heart Of Strewn Flowers 11/10 (The best action scenes, the most emotional, the perfect chapter, and my favourite.)

Chapter Four: The House Of Joy, The Final Hell 9.9/10 (I have one minor squalor, that being its existence minority undermines the perfect end of the previous chapter, but it’s acceptable as it feels like a rug pull.)

Plot 9.5/10 (A fantastic revenge film, within its genre a masterpiece, within film it’s fucking incredible.)

Soundtrack/Score 9.6/10 (So beautiful within its intent, outside, seems a bit on the nose.)

Acting 9.5/10 (Kaji is phenomenal, she fits the role like a Cinderella shoe, what a fucking performance.)

Pacing 9.9/10 (Action packed, loving every second, what more could pacing do for you?)

Cinematography 9.8/10 (The falling snow turned sprinkles of blood, truly peak.)

Character Development 9.7/10 (The four horsemen are so well written, especially within death.)

Writing 10/10 (The price we pay for revenge, is the price we pay for life.)

Ending 9.7/10 (Talk about a luxury you can’t afford.)

Direction 9.3/10 (The choreography is insane, but I feel like some shots are cut too quickly.)
