i think it could’ve stood to be a little less abstract but overall i didn’t mind it
i appreciated the themes of giving up parts of yourself in a relationship
i do wish that some things were foreshadowed a bit more but the imagery was pretty freaky so i enjoyed myself

Eerie movie with some loud jump scares. I didn’t dislike it but it was strange. Osgood Perkins has been disappointing recently and I need to lower my expectations for his films. 6.0/10
Better than dookie ass Beau is afraid and The Monkey at least

The thesis is super clear, the mood and vibes are spot on Perkins. If you like his stuff, you’ll dig this movie. Love the designs so much. It’s a trip for sure, more reminiscent of his earlier flicks.

I went ballistic on the monkey… going nuclear on Keeper.
Last year, the monkey was one of the worst of the year.
Once again to solidify the spot with Keeper.
I’m sick of having the same formula fed over and over again by osgood Perkins:
a couple really good shots + some of the worst writing ever done + good horror character models + immense plot holes + below average story + tubi style acting = (2024-2026) Osgood Perkins films…
I think he would be better off working on character models for horror films, I think he shouldn’t be a director, that money that NEON is pumping should go to someone who actually cares about the process of filmmaking… stop prioritizing a couple “wow moments” over your whole goddamn story.
This film lasts an hour and a half, it manages to feel like 4 for the excessive use of dead space that doesn’t do anything to ambiance of the film, no tension building, a thing happens and good, nothing else now.
As a director you have the duty to direct your actors who in the film appear to be directionless.
And in conclusion, horror films fall in 2 categories good horror = strikes you.
Bad horror= you have fun.
You have achieved the third option, so bad that it’s just a stale, boring, shallow piece of content that insults cinema by just existing.

So he’s like 300 years old? The story is lowkey kinda hard to follow like what tf is he doing to the women? Are they demons? It’s really slow too. I will say the last 20 minutes have some nightmare material but don’t know if that redeems itself.
