this coming out after the substance was probably very bad for itself, very substance-esque in its premise and message but not executed nearly as well, or acted as well

effects were good and some nice shots at the start of the movie but not enough to surmount other issues

Fun premise. Falls short on some details but the ending…poor John. I thought she was gonna give him Paul’s face but that was way worse.

I enjoyed the story and special effects but the body horror was a bit too much for me at times. Going in blind, it was better than expected and definitely worth a watch!
