Interesting but boring if that makes sense?

8.9 - I can’t get this out of my head.

It’s not the *best* horror of the year so far, but it’s the scariest, *by far.*

I saw both this & Weapons this weekend & there’s a part of me that think this is better, at least in its horror elements. When people say a movie is cursed or evil, & they make comments like they rebuke it and don’t invite what it is putting out into their lives, I usually roll my eyes. But this movie is lowkey cursed.

It’s shown in a mockumentary style but if it was a real documentary, it would be setting records on Netflix this fall. Its release date & limited screens are a disservice to people who love actual horror. The gore is intense - I actually almost had to look away a couple times & was glad I didn’t have food like most of my showing. The pure terror or disgust on the teens next to me’s faces at certain times was something I haven’t seen in person often. At least one person left.

I’m not saying it’s an all time instant classic horror movie necessarily, but I am saying that even writing this review is making me a bit uncomfortable thinking about it so much. I can’t wait for the teased sequel from the post credit scene & hope it actually happens.

P.S. to add that apparently I’m in a minority and people think the acting was terrible but I thought the acting was perfect for the style. They felt just like the type of people you see in your average true crime documentary interviews. *shrugs*

This mockumentary gave me the creeps beyond creeps. This film was so detailed and elaborate that it made my skin crawl. The crime scenes shown in this film were so vile and disturbing that this film will leave you feeling uneasy and looking over your shoulder.

feels like something wendigoon would cover and i love it!! the deaths were so detailed and immaculate

Pretty good. A very interesting concept that felt quite realistic and disturbing. The documentary concept was interesting but it did cause large moments to feel quite slow. I would have wanted to see a bit more of found footage scenes. The ending left for different theories
