The Big Heat

This is a quintessential cop crime thriller film-noir with style. A terrific cautionary tale of power corrupting people. It is fast paced, yet takes its time to unravel the tangled yarn of a mystery. Glenn Ford is great as the lead detective trying to uncover the truth of it all.

I like how this noir thriller was much harsher than other films that came out around the same time. It's not a favorite of mine in the genre, but more intense scenes make it stand out.
