The only Hitchcock film that has ever left me feeling bored and unmoved. As a diehard Jimmy Stewart fan I was disappointed. The male gaze can die. ​​​​​​​​​​

I really loved the style of this film more than anything else, brilliant for it being like damn near 70 years old - tbh my biggest gripe is that I just didn’t feel the tension as much as I thought I would during this but I can absolutely respect the weight that this film carries as a classic and staple of the horror genre - sort of the OG psychological thriller and you can see alot of its influence in other pieces of media (I think Spider Noir is based heavily on this vibe and these characters)

What an absolute ride, there’s romance, a tad of comedy, lots of drama and the mysteries and conspiracies really keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. Though I wish the midge storyline had a real conclusion. As well, the ending is too abrupt and should’ve been extended.
