3/15/26: oh my god my favorite Oscar nomination. Yes it’s a lil historical fan fiction at moments, but it never smacks you over the head with a message of self importance!! Ethan Hawke literally becomes invisible and disappears in this character. Absolutely phenomenal. Hehehehe a fav of mine from the modern decade

Fa vienen raras las pelis, si entiendo la nominación, no lo reconoces, los gestos, la manera de hablar pero tiene ayuda de maquillaje y eso, entonces está bien pero la actuación no hace la peli ni la justifica, no se entiende mucho xq la hicieron, no es conocido, no tuvo una vida

I really liked this film even though it’s primarily Hawke talking throughout most of it, which is pretty impressive. The camerawork is great but why make him pine for a woman when that never happened. It would’ve been more realistic if it was a man. That really annoyed me.

Ethan Hawke does a good job at playing this guy but I don’t know enough about the guy or that time period and it can be very slow and boring
