Peeping Tom

i just adored this film, it is a fascinating character study on childhood trauma and the psychology of paraphilias, while putting the audience in the shoes of a voyeuristic spectator themselves
it’s age did not hurt it at all either, the writing and camera work is still fantastic

Here voyeurism itself looks outwards and inwards, confounding perpetrator and victim, filmmaker and viewer, camera and phallic weapon, while observing a pathology as metacinematic as it is psychiatric.

a genuine underrated slasher pioneer
