Ahead of its time with the meta elements on filmmaker and audience, the audience’s compliancy in the act by watching it. As well as the themes of trauma, which seems to be explored in every horror movie now; there’s also self-reflective elements from Michael Powell in the script

Mark was disturbing at the onset. A very curious tale of how childhood trauma and the sins of our parents can impact who we become as adults. The ending was completely unexpected!

far ahead of its time. one of the first pov serial killer movies! this film really feels like it could be late 60s or early 70s, i can’t believe it was filmed in 1959!!
