One of the most bold and creative films of the year. Shows how brutal motherhood can be. Amy Adams is phenomenal in this film

i feel like a lot of people that didn’t get this movie aren’t tired, burnt out stay at home moms. i am, and i felt very seen by this movie. the acting was great, and i personally liked that they didn’t give the characters names because it’s easier to see yourself in the role. the “turning into a dog” aspect that other people seemed not to like… i thought it was more symbolic, not literal. again, i think to get this movie you have to relate with it, and most viewers don’t i guess. i watched this with my husband and he definitely saw parallels between the storyline and our experience as new parents. overall, weird movie in the best way.

I liked that it sheds a very different yet not unusual light on motherhood and its struggles.
BUT. Killing innocent pets/animals, normalizing it within friend group, dismembering their bodies & putting them on display, and paintings posing next to them bleeding?! Wtf why?

A film about parenting with weird visuals meant to be understood as a metaphor of how motherhood changes you (in her case a dog; but its in her mind). From the first scene you will know the film is mostly thought provoking but not pure horror or action. Amy Adams is Fantastic!

Some scenes made me uncomfortable and I like horror movies. All I saw was even if you’re married parenting can still fall primarily on one person. Idk why but watching this made me think of the Loch Ness monster
