Hurry Up Tomorrow

I really don't see what was so bad about the movie to others. I mean the dialogue and acting is goofy at times yeah, but other than that it's good. romance into a psychological horror thing? cool. it's insulting to say he "tried too hard," it's just his creative expression.

2.1 - Worst release of 2025, so far.

Sadly, not the worst I’ve seen in the last week. But this was a major buzzkill, watching this minutes after leaving Final Destination: Bloodlines. It admittedly maybe even amped up Bloodlines’s score in my mind.

I’m not a fan of The Weeknd at all - just not great vibes in general, but I tried really hard to put that aside.

It’s a two hour bad music video with a loose cringey retelling of Misery as its core plot. It’s dizzying, loud, & colorful but not in a fun, psychedelic, trip movie but in an I’m getting a headache, turn it off way. The dialogue is not good, the drone photography & whiplash editing are over the top & nauseating. The music is the one place where I can’t be unbiased against The Weeknd, it’s just his music. It also has the single worst scene of the year by a long shot.

And for some reason the intro credits repeat some designations like six times & drag on for like 15 minutes. That doesn’t affect the movie much but it annoyed me on top of the rest of the issues here.

Trey Edwards Shults, I’ve only seen It Comes at Night, but I think you’re better than this. Barry Keoghan, I know you’re better than this. Jenna Ortega, I think you’re better than this, but you need a new agent. Riley Keough, I hope you got paid well for only making a couple phone calls - you should have done more.

I knew it’d be bad, & the worse the reviews got the more I needed to see it. If that’s how you feel too good luck. If you’re a big fan of The Weeknd, have fun. Everyone else, spend your time & money elsewhere.

Just go to the weekend concert it’s so much better

This was style over substance at max capacity. It was even tough to watch Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Abel and his ego must be stopped.

The weeknd is my absolute favourite artist of all time but this was not it unfortunately. Just listen to the album instead 🤷‍♂️
