One of the better 'horror' films I've seen, probably all year. I love psychological thrillers, and this is exactly that. Almost the entirety of the rare 1 hr 20 m runtime is a car ride that the score, directing, and camera work make feel more like a rollercoaster ride. The story moves along implicitly, yet the intent of its metaphors grows explicitly. Parenting, responsibility, guilt, grief, and so on, told through surreal symbolism, harsh dialogue, and ineffable folklore. The voice acting and performances were intense. The format felt original, and the emotions were dialled up to 10. Overall, I'd probably give it a 7.5/10.

strong performances from both sides, I love a movie where the ending can be taken at face value or from your own interpretation. people who like those "takes place in the same room the whole time" movies will enjoy this

A neat “one location” film. The tension builds up throughout this slow burn thriller. There are some loud noises that I would say are jumpscares but other than that (and some subtle fantastical folklore moments) this is more of a thriller than a horror movie. A cool movie to watch while playing a game on your phone.

A thinking person’s movie. Liked it a lot but wanted more explanation at the end. Lots of room for interpretation

It was a good thriller for sure, but the father pissed me off so bad that it was hard to enjoy. I do find it very interesting that Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys also voiced the Strange Couple. Certainly something I’d think about going in for a second watch if I ever did
