Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie

Soundtrack is the most random collection of bangers I’ve ever heard in a movie. The concept of giving the show some resolution was great but poorly executed. The story feels like a rip off Toy Story 3. Vera gives strong Cruella vibes. The end felt rushed and underwhelming.

Kids had fun tho.

I wanted a colorful distraction for a chill weekend. I honestly like this; it takes a simple kid’s show concept and injects fun, chaotic energy.

What Worked:
• Wiig hams it up as Vera, bringing a goofy energy that cracked me up.
• Mantzoukas voicing a bitter plush cat is hilarious casting and steals the show.
• The live-action/animation hybrid looked vibrant, especially in the colorful candy land.

The Friction:
• The constant pop music drops felt too frequent and stalled the momentum.
• The “fear of growing up” subplot felt shoehorned in and didn’t land for me.
• The wacky Kitty Gnome antics dragged when I just wanted to get back to the rescue.

Verdict:
I honestly like this. Watch for a breezy family movie. Skip if pop songs or kid-centric plots annoy you.
