This is the first Toy Story movie that I’ve actually seen fully, from start to finish. And I gotta say, it got to me. I think this one did a great job at blending being for kids and also having a strong message for adults. I know the others have been deemed classics and rightfully so, but this one has a new vibe and a new message that I think will hit a lot of parents right in the face, which is good

A lot better than Toy Story 4, but still nowhere near as good as 1, 2, and 3. I'd say I didn't 'love' the film, but I did really like it or at least aspects of it. The focus on Jessie this time around was brilliant. The animation looks incredible, and I really enjoyed the style format shift for the 'play' scenes. The toy vs. tech POV is such a good direction for the franchise. Young or old, it's relevant all the same. The comedy and characters work well enough, although I do wish there was more screen time for the OG gang. All in all, I was expecting a lot worse.

Loved these characters since childhood and wanted to see how Pixar tackles the screen-time dilemma. Honestly loved this gorgeous sequel; it proves there’s still heartfelt magic left in the franchise.

What Worked:
• Painterly art style during playtime parts looks incredible and completely pops.
• Shifting the spotlight to Jessie brings a super fresh perspective I adored.
• Newman’s score mixed with Swift’s track gives an emotional, massive lift.

The Friction:
• The shipwrecked Multi-Buzz sub-plot part at the beginning really dragged for me.
• New high-tech device characters honestly felt a bit too crammed in.

Verdict:
Watch for a heartwarming masterpiece that will make you cry. Skip if you think this franchise should’ve stopped years ago.
