I personally think that he did it at the end, and the final scene was just a dream sequence, a beautiful thought, the last bit of hope, what he wished had actually happened. and he was really lying on the floor taking his last breaths.
will there ever be an escape. 4/5

A very subtle but powerful film with an ending that had me scouring Reddit for understanding. I felt sort of conflicted when first finishing it but the more I have sat on it, the more I like it.
