Those About to Die Reviews

Iwan Rheon’s acting in this is the best I’ve seen him, always giving believable performances even when the plot makes him work for it.

Centering around a 'Peaky Blinders' like plot, gambling is all the creators of this show did. As expected from an 'Emmerich' production, everything from the script, characters and acting was soaked in exciting disappointment. Both rich like an emperor and poor like a slave, 'Those About To Die' either has expensive production and cheap writing, or penniless production with wealthy writing. Unfortunately, unlike 'Game of Thrones', or 'Peaky Blinders', this fails to create star-like characters. As spectacular as it might've gotten, I wouldn't want a season 2. At least they made it a 'fictional' fantasy scattered with sex and gore.

Echt ganz gute Serie. Gute grafische Darstellung und spannende Politik. Story und alles drum herum auch echt gut. Mir fehlen nur iwie Charaktere mit denen ich besser sympathisieren kann, die haben alle ein Manko. Sonst aber gut

Painfully illogical and historically inaccurate, for a series called those about to die there are barely any gladiators in it. There are some good dialogue's and acting performances (especially Iwan Rheon) but just not enough to carry the quality. The CGI is awkward as well.

Ancient Rome and gambling but unfortunately wasn’t good

I enjoyed the first 9 episodes, but the finale was awful, some truly awful writing and decisions made by the show runners. Like why the hell did Aura decide to become a gladiator, just very odd.

it was so goodddd

i started my rewatch to then find out the second season was canceled, which i’d been checking in regularly. this is just my typ of show-i hd so much fun. i am not okay with it being over. there’s so much i still needed to see. i don’t even know if i should recommend it now.

Those About to Die is an entertaining historical drama set in Ancient Rome, filled with political power struggles, gladiator battles, and intense chariot races. The visuals are impressive and the story has plenty of action.

What an incredibly good series. I find the story beautiful, it never gets boring and you keep watching. And love the little eroticism.

this show was actually so good the next game of thrones. I loved the queer couples man but as well as the rest surprisingly.

I absolutely loved it. The plot is gripping, and I sincerely hope the series will be renewed for a second season at some point, as I’m extremely curious about the characters’ future and how their stories will unfold.

Best parts were the colosseum events although they got repetitive.

A divisive and raw series, especially in the last episodes. It creates a kind of confusion in who to support. Not suitable for the weak of stomachs since there are raw scenes of killings. And also respect the history line
