A few more seasons and I might just move my rating higher. I'm so glad James Gunn gets to kick off and caretake this new universe. I'm a d*ckrider through and through, because of his passion, personality and production. Edgy comedy, head-spinning choreography, stylised sounds/music, and quick-witted scripting. I love the casting, from niche actors to frequent collaborators. It's so easy to get hooked onto the colourful animation/characters. My only struggle was with some of the silly, almost repetitive shortcutting. More episodes maybe? Also, G.I's next visit needs to be the WhiTe House.

What a start to the new DCU, as a massive fan of James Gunn I was not disappointed in the least by this show. The character development was crazy good, and the characters themselves were amazing and written perfectly. This show was hilarious at times, extremely emotional at times, and action packed throughout. Overall, easily a 9/10, amazing start to the DCU

I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this show. On one hand, it’s James Gunn doing what James Gunn does best - a small, ragtag group of misfits that are at each others’ throats at first, but gradually turn into a tight family. And, as usual, he tells that story in a great way. But it’s also just… a really weird project, for a few reasons.
But first, the good stuff! I honestly did really enjoy my time with the show. I watched almost all of it on a long flight, and it was a great little way to pass the time. The characters are so lovable, and for some reason have such tragic backstories?? They were all pretty good but like damn 😭 but it really is so satisfying to see them come together as a group as the show goes on. James Gunn (like I said above) totally nails that dynamic. The music choices are really great too - I really don’t know how James Gunn always knocks that out of the park. And the animation style isn’t anything I haven’t seen before, but it’s definitely more refined than just about anything else like it.
But, there are definitely a few problems. For one thing, the plot feels a bit disorganized at times. There are a couple of story threads and characters that feel like they’re really built up for the whole show, but then just aren’t paid off in the end. The show also really isn’t funny to me. James Gunn usually kills it with the humor, but I’m not sure his jokes land as well in animation? It constantly makes jokes, but I only really found Dr. Phosphorus to be particularly funny. And it’s also a WEIRD choice to kick off the DCU. That’s not really a negative, since for 99% of the audience, Superman was the first project in the DCU, and it doesn’t particularly matter what comes first, but I just find it funny and wanted to bring it up somewhere. It’s a very clear sign of what’s coming from a James Gunn-led DC Universe and, after this and Superman, I can’t say I’m not excited!!

Okay so I binged this on a whim and it was such a good idea. The animation was SOO I loved how the episodes were dedicated to the characters backgrounds but, yeah this series needs to be longer bc it felt rushed at times. Love Nina but girl, what can you do successfully? Quickly.

I cried, I smiled, I laughed, I got angry but I enjoyed it. James Gunn did an incredible job telling us the story of villains -in some cases- so complex that they suffered and went through a lot that led them to end up with Amanda Waller. my favorite eps were 2,3,4 y 7.

Everyone had a tragic backstory. They created a lot of blood and carnage despite being a show. I wish it was little longer with some more answers at the end

Loved this show! It was fun and interesting learning about these obscure characters of DC. It was a great appetizer for the overall DCU and glad it’s getting a season 2. The animation and writing was great! James Gunn is that guy

8/10 Wow, I was surprised by how great this show was. This was such a great time, the way James Gunn was able to flesh out all of these new characters was really cool to see. The comedy was great and the animation was pretty great too. Highly recommend even if your not a DC fan 🔥

Won't be watching anymore, the plot is boring and the comedy is so excessive and unfunny.

Character design and animation were really cool. I wish there was an extra episode or two to let the story breathe more. I liked how each episode was its own character backstory, but it didn’t leave a lot of room left for the main plot. Excited to see these characters more
