The last scene kinda bumps it up to a like, but it’s a little forced.
Unfortunately the lead isn’t strong enough, it’s no one’s fault, there’s a bit of growth needed before doing this type of role if you aren’t just a natural at it.
Mulligan’s character is overwhelmingly frustrating, which is good but god do I hate this character.
Jake is always Jake, nothing to say, not his strongest performance though, he wasn’t in it much so can’t really judge too well.
Lastly Paul Dano, I love you very very much, but we can definitely do better than this.
