White Squall

One of my all time favorite movies. It has so many well known people in it, the acting is fantastic, and the emotions draw you in. Must see movie!

Another strange outlier in Scott’s filmography, it’s not quite A Good Year, but it’s certainly random.

It’s competent in virtually every regard, but it’s just incredibly melodramatic, of course there’s the accident which was a tragedy, but everything before that was just so over-dramatised. There’s too many characters to develop, and it doesn’t spend a good amount of time trying to doing so, opting to attempt it through a variety of events - which didn’t really work.

Jeff Bridges is unsurprisingly good, I figured the role would be slightly one dimensional as it started, but it quickly became clear that wasn’t the case. All of the boys were mostly great too, no one especially stood out amongst the rest, my only question was how surprising none of them developed much of a career.

One of the weaker films from Ridley Scott, it’s not unwatchable, but it’s certainly cliche and not very interesting.

I bawled my eyes out and I’ve already seen it twice. My boyfriend Teared up. Amazing movie and highly recommend
