This is my comfort movie, this movies made me cry and feel so motivated. ITS SO UNDERRATED TOO!! I FEEL LIKE NOT MUCH PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOW AMAZING THIS IS!!

Needed a cozy Ghibli break. Expected a simple teen romance, but this authentic look at creating art honestly blew me away.

What Worked:
• Shizuku pushing through self-doubt to write hits home for me.
• Kondō captures the quiet, everyday Tokyo vibe beautifully.
• The “Country Roads” jam session gave it such warm energy.

The Friction:
• The early pacing dragged for me before the antique shop plot kicked in.
• The sudden romantic promise at the end felt rushed to me.
• The gorgeous fantasy sequences slightly pulled me out of the grounded reality I was vibing with.

Verdict:
Watch for a relatable story about creative dreams. Skip if you need fast-paced action.
