Mountainhead

As the number one ai hater ever this did feel almost too on the nose in a way that kind of made me sick to my stomach but yk that’s exactly what I love about Jesse Armstrong’s writing. It didn’t exactly satiate my need for more succession content like I wished it was going to cause obviously it’s an entirely different world of characters, but the whole time I was lowkey hoping that there would be a big-kahuna-burger-esc call back to anything from succession, but that’s probably a little too tacky for Jesse Armstrong unforch. I definitely need to rewatch it cause I’m sure there was so many things I missed while I was trying to decode the weird tech bro speak but I for sure liked it.

I tried to stay awake, but the pacing and overall story sent me straight to 'Mountainbed'. The cast initially pulled me into watching, and the themes kept me waiting for something that ended up being nothing. Steve Carell, Cory Smith, and Ramy Youssef as billionaires were great choices, although the satire didn't really click with me, and the acting felt somewhat flat. I know the ultra-wealthy usually are ultra-weird, but it just felt unrealistic. Unlike the story, which felt extremely realistic, only predictably slow and underwhelming.

Ja du, får inte tillbaka den tiden ja la på denna. Förväntande mig massa messy i slutet men inget riktigt hände. Lite för straight film för mig. 3/10

Could’ve been better, not always feeling real, funny overall, second half stronger.
