It’s a really amazing story but I feel it focuses way too much on the horrible step dad. I get he is part of his upbringing but it just felt like too much. I didn’t have the emotional attachment to this based on a true story movie like I usually do.

It’s a heartwarming underdog story with an encouraging narrative. It just followed too many sports movie formulas and all the standard tropes made it less inspiring than it could have been.

I liked it. Although I know nothing of wrestling and wish they had like a 2 min scene explaining the points since we see so much of the wrestling and points I would have been more into it. Great story, sad at first.
