Three Colors: White

White is definitely a weaker entry in the trilogy than Blue; it’s just not quite as engaging or inherently interesting. The story is solid, though it takes its time getting to the point.

The camera work and dialogue remain as fantastic as they were in the first film, but I struggled to connect with Karol or Dominique and their constant power struggle. While ‘White’ signifies equality, in this context it feels more like a fight to reach that status,
- ultimately becoming a competition to ‘one-up’ the other.

Despite not particularly caring for the characters, the cast did a good job. Going in, I had assumed the film would focus on Julie Delpy and that the entire trilogy followed female leads, so the shift was a bit unexpected.

While it doesn’t reach the same level as Blue, this was still a great film. Since the highest rated entry is still to come, I’m looking forward to seeing how it wraps up.

Three Colors: White
