-i hate the twins, they’re the worst
-makes total sense how so much devotion to something can lead a person to leave it behind when it all falls apart
-self awareness is very important

i was hesitant to watch because i don’t usually go for hyper-accurate period pieces but i’m so glad i did because it’s incredibly well done and i really appreciated the accuracy
it’s so isolating in a scary way, emotionally and physically
the acting was great too

Definitely a horrifically traumatising watch. If a movie makes you physically utter sin, then thou has won. Eggers is easily one of my all-time favourite horror directors. The rawness really gets under your skin. I did think some scenes were far too raw, but it's forgiven. The dialogue, score, and production made me feel secluded, always waiting for something, just to be blown away by the acting and teased by the genius in escalation. I just can't get over how disturbing this is, all while feeling grand. I'm both admired and astonished by this, but I'll never watch it again. I just can't.

Let’s talk about the performances in this A24 horror film! Anya Taylor Joy’s performance was refreshing and terrifying. A movie that made me turn it off and then back on just to know what happened. Possibly one of the most uncomfortable movies I have seen. But a must watch for me

What do we gain from watching this

What. The. Fuck. This movie had a lot of potential but the end felt pretty sloppy and kind of ruined it for me. ​​​​​​​​​

…finishes on a few memorable flourishes, even if it ends roughly where one might have hoped that it would start. Nevertheless, the slow burn is effective, and Eggers deserves credit for ploughing a fresh furrow in the annals of witchcraft film-making…

I enjoyed the lighthouse and the northman so I figured i’d give this movie a watch but I just really didn’t enjoy it all that much

Unfortunately there isn’t much to say here. Not much happened throughout the film and there was very little(if any) entertainment. I thought Taylor-Joy had a good performance but this won’t be recommended.

This was just like Among Us.

Yet another accurate piece from Robert Eggers that by now keeps surprising me in such a positive way, packed with darkness, lore and hidden clues, but I must say that in particular this one as amazing as it is stays at the bottom of his long format filmography, at least for me.
