-i hate the twins, they’re the worst
-makes total sense how so much devotion to something can lead a person to leave it behind when it all falls apart
-self awareness is very important

First of 2026. A bit disappointed, in my opinion the weakest of Eggers’ four films.

The atmosphere was so perfectly matched to the families dying hope after being banished: cold, eerie, and hollow.

What really got my attention was watching the family’s religious paranoia fracture their relationships more than the (little) supernatural forces we see on screen.
