-this one was hard to rate, until i read an explanation
-i hate the twins, they’re the worst
-makes total sense how so much devotion to something can lead a person to leave it behind when it all falls apart
-self awareness is very important

amazing.
i was hesitant to watch because i don’t usually go for hyper-accurate period pieces but i’m so glad i did because it’s incredibly well done and i really appreciated the accuracy
it’s so isolating in a scary way, emotionally and physically
the acting was great too

The Witch
The Witch is what introduced me to Anna Taylor-Joy and I've loved her work ever since. This film is more of a light scare with eerie music and brief scenes. It was slow throughout before everything went by pretty fast in the end. The father's death caught my brother and I off guard that we couldn't help but laugh a little by the suddenness of it.
I do not know if the twins were actually troubled, but considering the times, their actions annoyed me. They should've killed that goat as soon as they said it was speaking to them.

i want to say i love eggers work. his slow pace gives such an anticipating feel to it, yet this ending felt very flat.
i understand one can be corrupted the more they are forced into that box but the end of this felt so odd and didn’t fit the rest of the movie whatsoever. i believed i would know now about the witch, that it wasn’t just like his other movies where we only really see anything to do with the title right at the end.
i hated those two lil brats from the start.
