Ending was mediocre and the movie dragged and was just overall boring

The only good part was when they finally met and went on the car ride but even that was interrupted by nonsense scenes that just didn’t need to be in the movie

It was interesting to follow this from the perspectives of the protagonist and the antagonist. It's usually one or the other, and sometimes having a bleak ending works better than a typical one.
