I’d pay money to have somebody explain this movie to me

This movie grows on you the more you see it. Once you realize what it’s about it’s amazing. It’s not obvious for many.

Innovative idea executed really well. Surreal at times and very well structured. Great performances and amazing direction. Peak early 90s Cohen

There's more to this movie than just what is on screen. I personally had to get into the commentary and find some reviews to really understand everything going on here. Everything in this movie is an allegory for something else or a representation of the main character's mind

another masterwork from the coen’s that’s full of unbridled chaos, intelligence, humor, and stunningly powerful symbolism. john goodman is exceptional as always alongside utterly precise writing and cinematography with a wonderful twist and ending. deserves more praise

Great character study with amazing performances from Turturro and Goodman. I am shocked Lerner was the one who got the Oscar buzz.
