Nick cage is peak. Never a bad time

Dr. Doom vs. The 'Golden' Surfer. I watchlist every Nic Cage film, not just for the performance but for the guaranteed originality, and not only in the story but in the filming too. Techniques on techniques, from spiralling, dreamlike cinematography to nightmarishly phantasmagoric editing, all topping off an extremely emotionally infuriating story. The longer it went on, the more convoluted and impatient I got, which is the only reason I'm not rating it higher. A nightmare fuelled by visual and metaphorical allegories on belonging, exploitation, exploration, traumas, value, time, masculinity, society, loss, healing, and a whole lot more.

nice visuals and the lighting was great, but the plot was just a mess, lots of jumping around and an unreliable narrator so i just didn’t really enjoy how it didn’t give much context for anything by the end

Would’ve been 10x cooler if he was actually the madman all along!

at times this was almost hypnotic but it could have used some more violence/comedy imo and story was paced too slowly

cage was underwhelming and other characters were just place fillers, I get it’s tryna say something but .. that missed .. just felt like it didn’t commit fully

Why didn’t I walk out of this dumbass movie

The end could of saved it but it fell short

This movie messes with your mind and makes you question things. It’s a slow movie but enjoyable just because of how bizarre it is and spiraling that happens.

Trippy but in a confusing way, bit of a “is he/isn’t he” movie. He turns into more and more of a wacky homeless man. Movie didn’t really take off until over half way through

i actually kinda liked this. it was slow at parts, nic cages acting is honestly sort of weak at the points where his life isn’t falling apart, but it was a really fun time and GORGEOUSLY shot. fun music, fun concept, good resolution.

Insane and mind boggling Nick Cage film.

It was ok.

Very bizarre and weird movie but for the most part I enjoyed it. Nicolas Cage is wild in it and the story was insane. Worth a watch
