A very good western directed by one of the most iconic film directors John Ford and starring two of the most legendary actors in John Wayne and James Stewart.

I like it more the longer I think about it. A beautiful, poignant story of painful sacrifice. A man doing the right thing, even at the cost of his own dreams of happiness. Brilliant narrative framing device of reminiscing characters. Amazing performances & cinematography.

Didn't expect him to die off screen

Excellent.

This is a really good story, but it has way too much to do with politics. I wanted there to a little more action. A good shootout or something. Twist ending was a bit predictable.
