The House of the Devil
while it did create an accurate sense of dread, it took way too long for anything to happen. Megan really chowed down on that pizza for it being supposedly disgusting. her character only existed to eat loudly. 1/10

The House of the Devil
A tribute to the horror films of the 1980s, completely capturing its cinematic, aesthetic, storytelling and tone. While the film suspense is what stands out, is also the reason for its undoing. The slow but tense buildup is amazing, but it falls flat when it uncovers the mystery.

the movie took a while for something to eventually happen as it was incredibly slow. i enjoyed it being set and filmed like a 80s movie and the idea of the movie was good just took to long to get to anything.

Loved the last 20 minutes but the rest was a little too slow for me.

Loved the aesthetic and the mood. The tension building for the majority of the film was great. It lost me a little bit at the climax but still overall good.

I really enjoyed the cinematography and the general atmosphere of the movie was well done. However, nothing really happened until the last 20 minutes of the movie and i found myself losing interest before then, due to that i can’t give this more than a ‘meh’ rating.

-Way too long, really slow moving, but otherwise a nice horror movie.
-Don’t regret watching it but I wouldn’t watch it again

The House of the Devil
A fun, retro horror with modern-day scares. Very slow and effective build to a bloody finale

Takes its time and does a very good job of transporting you back to the early 80s.
