Terminator Genisys

It is a return, of sorts, to the 1984 original, unnecessarily complicated by so many time twists and wraps that even a ardent fan of the franchise must admit reluctantly that its future is behind it.

Easily the weakest of the Terminator movies in my opinion. The plot is garbage and all the place and the script is awful. Armies ok and Emilia Clarke is decent but Jai Courtney is terrible. Theirs it’s if action and some of it incredible but no heart. Hollow stuff

I mean.. the acting was not too shabby, and the plot was also okayish, I just like it because it's a terminator movie with a basic plot, the ending was good all in all

Working through the Terminator timeline meant I couldn’t skip the multiverse remix where an older Arnold fights his 1984 self. I like this; the time-travel plot gets messy, but Arnold’s grumpy “Pops” routine and 1984 callbacks kept me entertained.

The Director's Eye (What Worked):
• Arnold has a blast with dad humor, Lee Byung-hun is a sharp T-1000, and J. K. Simmons brings fun energy.
• Blue-and-green night lighting in the 1984 scenes matches Cameron’s original look.
• The 1984 T-800 face-swap holds up, and flipping a real bus on a bridge replica adds weight.
• Balfe weaves classic Fiedel drums into the score while Taylor nails the 1984 homage.

The Friction (What Didn't Click for Me):
• Jai Courtney plays Kyle like an action jock, and his chemistry with Emilia Clarke never sparks.
• Jumping timelines while turning Skynet into an app feels like homework.
• Turning John Connor into a cloud of CGI nanobots undercuts the heart.

The Verdict:
I like it. Watch for 1984 nostalgia. Skip if messy timelines bug you.
