Terminator: Dark Fate
I enjoy this film, no way does it hold it’s own to the original and Judgement Day but it is better than the other sequels. Glad to see Linda back, Arnie is doing his thing, Gabriel Luna is good as the villain, and Mackenzie is badass The story and direction should’ve been better.

7/10 What a way to end the franchise (for now at least). I loved having Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger back. The new additions were fantastic and I enjoyed the woman empowerment of it all.

the return of Sarah Connor and Papi. despite everyone saying that it doesn't match the firsts, they're still at the same level and hold a unique spark.

Just simply the most unnecessary follow-on ever… beyond that, rendering its masterpiece predecessor essentially redundant… also kinda wild that with 20 years of technology enhancements the visual effects manage to look worse! Relying on CGI over practical effects is an evident misfire, the franchise was built by Cameron on innovation in this field (and narrative beats, of course!).
Dialogue is truly awful, making characters immensely unlikeable - particularly Grace, it’s just a mess and grossly cringe, but even how the script navigates the narrative is sub-par, often feeling a bit directionless.
It’s no surprise Tim Miller hadn’t made a feature since, 6 years later…

I keep asking myself what a 1980s audience would've thought had this been the original, and what a 2020s audience would think of the original had it been released now. Unfortunately, I don't have a time machine to experiment with. Regardless, this is a heavy improvement from 'Genisys', mainly due to the incredible casting. Although it's not much of an improvement, as I still rank it a little below 'Salvation'. The exposition is messy, especially in its messaging. The overall timeline has become almost comedically convoluted, and the plot reuses anything and everything from past films. It works better as a standalone, but I wouldn't even call it one.
