Shot Caller

I think this is between a 7.5-8 star rating for me, actually been one of the tougher movies to rate for me. It’s really good and I thought the plot was good other than a few holes. Acting is great and the portrayal of prison life was interesting. I think ultimately the major theme that sticks out is how people become part of the environment they are in. I kept wondering why did he send the coordinates to the cops? That makes no sense but looking at it with a broader lens you understand that he wanted to be in prison and wanted to be the head guy. It was a really interesting movie and I thought they did well portraying many different themes. Makes you think a little which I enjoy. Recommend for crime and mob/ gang lovers.

Badass crime thriller and a great character study. Of a average guy becoming a cold blooded criminal just because of fate was insane.
Basically he got the Walter White movie treatment.
