Does Angelina have bad movies ? Doubt that.
I didn’t read the description so I didn’t know what the movie was to be about. From the cover here it looked all romantic, but once I started watching I was proven wrong immediately. 10/10 💖

Very entertaining, have been wanting to see this for 10+ years. Naturally watched it on a plane 😂

I expected a standard spy chase, but Jolie’s practical stunts hooked me.

What Worked:
Jolie doing her own stunts gives a raw texture that puts CGI flicks to shame. The drab federal building sets make the chase feel claustrophobic. Through my Methodist lens, seeing someone wrestle with a dark past to choose sacrificial protection over destructive loyalty beautifully reflects my values on grace and repentance.

The Cuts:
Constant twists about Evelyn’s loyalty made momentum totally stall out during exposition dumps; it was just spinning its wheels on lore. Keeping it spoiler-free, the late-game security breaches are insanely unbelievable, shattering the movie’s realism. Also, the occasional dated CGI looked rubbery and took me out of the tension.

Verdict:
A relentless thriller bogged down by a convoluted plot. Fun for Jolie’s stunts, but skip if you want a logical spy story.

Favorite Line: “My name is Evelyn Salt.”

This movie was a huge rollercoaster, the start was confusing and towards the end it started making more sense. But just for the fact that Angelina Jolie was in it, it was worth the watch. I was once again reminded of her miraculous acting she made Evelyn Salt who she needed to be
