Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin Reviews

Good movie but not at all related or even similar in tone to the rest of the Paranormal Activity franchise. I feel like it would have been much better received if released on its own rather than try to tie into the PA franchise.

I genuinely think this movie is SUPER cool. But also… it doesn’t feel like a Paranormal Activity movie whatsoever. It’s one of those modern additions that feels like the creators wanted to make their own movie, but couldn’t get it approved unless it was under a franchise.

Is Paranormal Activity in the room with us? This really should have just been a standalone titled Next of Kin.

Idk if I was too high but this movie scared the fuck out of me

Could have been better dale was the best character don't like how it wasn't 100% just found footage

one of the worst found footage movie I have ever watched, this is so bad. no story, no plot, no acting nothing. also this has nothing to do with PA?? like dude why is it part of the franchise

The Amish setting is a total breath of fresh air that I hope more horror movies utilize in the future. That’s really the only reason for the “meh”. Feels like a movie that wasn’t intended to be in the Paranormal Activity series but then had the name slapped on it. Not very good.

Really good horror movie. I had to keep stopping the movie out of fear/ suspense. I like how the movie did not depend too much on CGI but little jump scares/ sarry thing at the beginning. CGI was pretty decent too. A good 8.5/10

A great addition to the paranormal activity world. Some of it was a little crazy and out of left field, but after the movie before this I should’ve expect it lol

Rated: 5.2/10 ⭐️

I wanted to see how an Amish reboot worked. It’s meh; the farm is cool, but it honestly doesn’t feel like a Paranormal Activity movie.

What Worked:
• The snowy, isolated farm setting gives creepy folk-horror vibes I totally dug.
• The slick documentary camera gear makes everything look genuinely gorgeous.
• The wild demon-pit sequence at the end gave me some solid adrenaline.

The Friction:
• It ditches classic security camera scares, feeling like a totally different movie.
• The story dragged a ton in the middle, making pacing super sluggish for me.
• The loud monster chase ending lost that suffocating, unseen dread.

Verdict:
It’s meh. Watch for creepy cult vibes. Skip if reboots ignoring original lore annoy you.

Kung

même si j’ai mis du temps à le finir ça allait

This one was hard to watch….Just terrible

great movie!! has NOTHING to do with the series, so if you pretend it’s not, it’s actually decent!

Phew, that was hard work, tense and nerve wracking a nice little fright fest, but does your eyes in, these awkward camera angles 😒

Let this be a lesson to adopted kids searching for their birth parents. Sometimes, it's best to just say nope and move on 😂

wasnt all that but still pretty good

So weird but so good

It took me a while to get into the story since everything was confusing and kinda awkward at the beginning, but I ended up liking it! It reminded me of “As above so below” in some ways.

It would’ve been so much better just being an independent movie. Slapping ‘Paranormal Activity’ on it just added a sense of expectation that it didn’t meet at all. Also wasn’t a fan of how it went back and forth being a found footage, then normal shots.
