Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Reviews

The thing about this film that blew me away was that I didn’t see it until almost 100 years after it came out and the issues discussed in the film are STILL happening in today’s congress.

This movie needs to play on loop until people learn how to start acting civil and decent again, fuck it’s refreshing to see a politician stand for what’s right instead of what’s convenient

Uplifting story. Jimmy Stewart, you're a gem.

Incredible movie with themes that still ring true today. I do wish I had been able to see it when it first came out and not now, when we are at such a place in the US that Jeff Smith’s honor and values really do seem to be lost on our leadership, and the ending was quite abrupt, but for a second there, I actually felt some semblance of pride in my country and what it was meant to stand for again.

Very abrupt ending

Just as relevant today. Power turns to greed turns to corruption. Stewart is compelling. The hero we still need. Arthur helps well.
