I was at the beach building an awesome sandcastle when out of nowhere Moana smashed it to bits then whacked me out cold with a shovel. I woke up tied against an anchor and screamed as her and Maui pushed me into a shark pit to die.

I survived B!tch, Moana better count her days.

The storyline was almost identical to the 1st movie & the songs couldn’t live up to the originals. I only liked the bat girl’s song, but she was pretty useless for the plot. New characters were annoying & shallow. Very underwhelming & an obvious cash grab. Disney flops again.

The story was okay but the music was completely forgettable. This should have been a direct to Disney+ only movie.

They forgot to add the fucking plot. If you’re a kid reading this review, this movie ASS!! Fuck this film

Can I get a chee hoo?

The songs were cringey, but I think they were super intentional about incorporating cultural aspects which was really cool. I liked the end! They also made it VERY obvious that there will be a 3rd movie…

Short, fast paced and unreasonable. It’s basically the same as the first one and was just setting up the next movie. Gay

Not as good as the first

it was just predictable imo but still great. love moana’s relationship with her little sister 🫶

5.7 - (2nd watch) it didn’t get better on rewatch. It just solidified it’s inferior to its predecessor in every way. And painfully forgettable.

5.9 - It’s maybe unfair to attach this so heavily to its predecessor, especially with an almost entirely new team behind it, but Moana is arguably the best animated movie Disney has put out in the last 15-20 years, so the bar is already set so high.

And this isn’t bad, but it is forgettable. I watched it four nights ago & have forgotten so much. I couldn’t tell you new characters. I don’t think I could hum you a song. A basic outline of the plot is about the best I can do, & that’s a let down.
I do remember there are tender moments really doubling down on family. I do remember thinking a couple of times that I’m glad the animation is bright & fun. And I do remember thinking “oh yeah, this was definitely supposed to be a Disney+ original series.” Oh, & that they’re setting themselves up for a big flop with the mid-credit scene. I’ll watch it again & hope that it sticks better the second time around, but right now, I think it speaks volumes how this has made insane amounts of money & almost no one is talking about it publicly.

Bordering on a dislike. I'm all for sequels... to a point. What was the point of this? There's no real progression, and story-wise, it's near the exact same as the first, only predictably boring. Generic music, generic jokes, generic visuals, generic characters, and the list goes on. Every trope and gimmick is repetitive to the Disney catalogue, especially as of recently. I'm sure kids and families would enjoy this, and that's the only reason I'm not giving it a complete dislike. Even then, the pacing for half the runtime dragged slower than a boat on still water.

The chicken is one of the best characters ever made in fiction.

3.5/5. Songs suck. First one had bangers. Movie kinda felt it was just a setup for the third movie. Enjoyable watch not too bad. Loved the little sister. Like the inclusion of more culture in this film. Sucks it wasn’t as good as its first movie. Should’ve stayed a show 🌊
