Definitely not devoid of quality since the acting and other elements are pretty great, but it still feels so lifeless. The story’s theme feels lost in the writing, which leads to a huge disconnect in the emotional core. I couldn’t care about these characters the way I needed to.

6.5 - I knew nothing of LB going in & feel I still don’t. It feels very surface. Hollow. Every statement is a wink & nudge & not fully realized. Feels like huge chunks of the story are left out. It’s technically fantastic - acting, visuals, flow. It’s just hard to really care.

yea this is my favorite movie of 2023 so far. My brother and i watched it together and agreed:
-this solidified Bradley Cooper as one of the greatest actors of his generation
-Carey Mulligan deserves best supporting actress
-cinematography and lighting was the best
-much more

The acting, cinematography and music (obviously) was amazing, but the movie felt like it lacked proper substance. I feel like the audience didn’t properly get to know/feel a proper connection with Leonard B. There were definitely some good parts but overall it felt a bit hollow.

I wouldn’t recommend seeing this if you’re not a legitimate Leonard Bernstein fan. I felt disconnected and somewhat lost for most of the film because it doesn’t focus much on his actual story. Amazing acting though and extremely good directing and cinematography

As memorable as Maestro is as a whole, the sequence that will follow you is one that comes near the end of the film, as Lenny conducts Mahler’s Resurrection at Ely Cathedral....As always in his landmark passion project, Bradley Cooper gets it just right.

Lifes too short for bradley cooper vanity projects. I turned it off with 35 min to go. Skip it. 2/10

This sucked more than he did when his wife wasn’t around

Powerful performances, stellar directing and beautiful cinematography; A powerful story that’s greatly executed. Bradley Cooper is a great actor but might be a better director and this film makes me see why Spielberg wanted him to direct this rather than himself.

Greatest performance I’ve seen from Bradley Cooper and even more impressive how he also directed the film. One of my favorite biopics I’ve seen and I don’t care for Leonard Bernstein’s music. The story is simply enrapturing!

Not bad. Kind of thought it was all over the place and had some jumps.
