Yes this was disturbing and eye opening but it hit a little differently for me because of how local this movie really was.
A lot of this documentary was set in my state. Actually one of the children in this film live in a city adjacent to mine, and it’s a very short drive to get there. I grew up in a non-religious agnostic household and was unaware of the evangelical christian presence in this area so this is a bit of a culture shock for me. Seeing all these familiar landscapes and homes all while hearing these disturbing things is just.. eugh. I’m freaked lol
