3.3 - One of my favorite books in middle school, one of the most disappointing adaptations I’ve seen. So much magic and suspense lost. Mediocre acting. Bad effects, both practical and digital. Poor pacing. Someone give this another shot in 5 years or so.

I want that power, so I can bring all my fictional book boyfriends to life.

Plays with a unique idea. What if reading aloud brought characters into the real world? The performances, especially Paul Bettany’s fire juggler, elevate the material.
