All of the horrific violence and torture aside, this was also just painfully made for the male gaze and felt so misogynistic. There is more female nudity in this than I think I have seen in any other single movie ever. After the third or fourth shot, it really felt like it wasn’t even trying to make a point anymore and instead was just a disgusting objectification of women.

And I’m not here to be the nudity police. But this was so obviously made for a very specific (male) audience and has little to no artistic merit whatsoever.

I could rant more about this but I’d rather forget I ever watched it.

this movie is disturbing, gruesome, and intense. it takes a while for anything eerie to happen—the first half feels like a sex, party, porn trip, but then it takes a dark, twisted turn. it's hard to watch at times—a horrifying and memorable concept.

I thought this was weird, scary and disturbing. I did enjoy it, but I don’t think I’ll be watching it again any time soon. I was cringing, hiding my eyes, I was also yelling at the television at times. Definitely not what I expected it to be, but I wasn’t disappointed.

Not as much gore as id thought it’d be, which is good i didn’t want to see allat anyways and the plot and characters were pretty solid throughout the movie. Even ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger. Also very thrilling. 7/10

All it really has going for it is the gore, I didn’t care much for the rest of the film. Though as a solo traveler, it did tap into one of my greatest fears so A+ for awful nightmares!

Hated it

It was just eh, I was waiting for some amazing moment to happen to spark up the movie but it didn’t come. It relies on shock for the most part and that can’t make a movie good. I thought it was boring.

Don't go to a hostel

I had built it up on my head to be much gorier. This was tame compared to Terrifier and some other horror I’ve seen. First half sex. Second half torture. Curious if the sequels continue the story or separate. But I enjoyed it. Some good scenes. Effect were decent for then.

It’s a pretty mediocre movie, it’s not too awful. I enjoyed paxton as a character :)
Tw for sex/nudity, drugs, gore, SA.
Also they use slurs several times in the movie lol.
