Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the best actors of our generation. Not enough can be said. The subtleties he shows playing two roles are very slight but still evident. The movie itself definitely makes you ponder everything, especially the ending. Pretty bizarre but still good

I wish there was a wtf was that rating lol jake is my guy one of my favs but I have a headache from trying to figure this one out ……. And to say you will never see this ending coming is the understatement of the century ……..

Possibly the worst Villeneuve project yet. Not because it's necessarily bad, but because it's convoluted and pretentious. The metaphors felt obnoxiously confusing and over the top. The acting felt boring. The casting felt wasted, and the pacing felt drainingly slow due to the lack of development. The only real blame I place on Villeneuve is for choosing this book to adapt. I don't know much about it, but for a film, it doesn't seem to work, not without at least some input. All in all, I'd probably recommend any other project in the director's filmography before this one.

7/10 - raises the question, what would you do?. Good watch.

I have a lot to say about this movie because I feel like it’s one of those movies you either hate or love and there’s no in between. It’s a movie you have to be 100% invested in, but being 90 minutes that’s fine in my opinion. Denis Villenueve is one of my favorite directors

2/10 if you don’t get it you won’t. it’s confusing and so very painfully slow. i don’t think this is really a movie to recommend because you’ll either love it or you’ll hate it. i really actually disliked it. though it may be an unpopular opinion i think it may be jakes worst

I couldn’t even finish it. It was so intensely boring. Adding suspenseful music won’t make the plot more thriller-y 😅

what a disappointment. the concept of the movie is interesting, but this movie was just weird and annoying to watch. the music pissed me off too.

Top 2 or 3 most confusing movies I’ve ever seen. This movie shatters all conventional beliefs about sequencing of events, providing context, and tying the plot up in a neat little bow in the end. I’d like to speak personally with anyone who easily understood exactly what was going on after their first watch with no issue because that person must be an artistic genius. That being said, there were a bunch of what I believe were unnecessary liberties taken with this film, that seem like they were added solely for the purpose of distorting the viewer’s reality, and it’s difficult to appreciate that as someone who wasn’t expecting such an artistic and unconventional film. Once I recalibrated my perspective to look at the movie more like a painting than a novel I was able to appreciate it more. There is a message, but it’s up to you to connect some dots, and decide what is literal, and what is figurative. Keep that framing in mind if you decide to give it shot and you won’t be disappointed.

Vaya mierdon de pelicula, he perdido 1 hora y media de mi vida en ver esta mierda. No se entiende nada, hay 20000 interpretaciones diferentes, es super corta pero se me ha hecho coml que durase 6 horas. Es literalmente basuta saltate ver la peli y simplemente busca la explicación

Weird and slow and puzzling. Confused by the ending but not motivated enough to google the reviews to figure it out

I was excited to learn about this early Denis Villeneuve film starring Gyllenhaal. What a massive disappointment this turned out to be. Story makes no sense and is extraordinarily boring. And the cinematography is the strangest choice ever. It's like someone dared them to make the drabbest colored film ever as a joke.
