Eight visually rich vignettes drawn from Kurosawa’s own dreams—fox weddings and vanished orchards, a soldier’s ghosts, a walk through Van Gogh’s canvases, nuclear nightmares, and a water-mill utopia—meditate on childhood, art, mortality, and humanity’s uneasy bond with nature.

I wish they were all as good as the first two and the last, but even as is the whole thing was beautiful.

The best ones were truly mesmerizing, and the fact that they were his dreams was so captivating. Most beautiful cinematography and visuals I’ve ever seen.

Slow but nice

Each shot is a painting and that's not an exaggeration. However most of the stories were just boring to me. I loved the fox ceremony and the tunnel ones but the rest were just meh. I may change my mind after seeing more Kurosawa.

What an extraordinary beautiful film. Artistically the film is superb. The mood is important to create the illusion of a dream and anything can happen in dreams! What a nice dream:)
