Distant

Woah, the visuals are amazing. From the suits to the aliens, it's a planetary feast for any Sci-fi fan. The score was fine, wanted some heaviness, but got genericness instead. I loved the sound effects though. Unlike the casting, I think both the leads are great actors but at a Disney level. It tries to be realistic/raw but it just comes off as annoyingly artificial. I love space, I love aliens, I love a bit of horror. This had it all till it quickly didn't. The characters embodied the feeling of second-hand embarrassment so it was hard to enjoy any jokes. Seems like there was more distance between the cast and crew with the way it went.

Tried to shove to much half way thrown together comedy, not really a fan of the main character. Saw him in this and the newest transformers, so far not very impressed with his performances. There are 5 other movies like this that I would recommend before this.

Not bad and full of action. Definitely moments of funny and romantic. Would have liked more depth as to what the creatures actually were or came from.
