Demon City Reviews

Super awesome fights, good story, surprisingly emotional, 9.4/10

REVIEW: DEMON CITY (2025) - A STYLISH, YET FLAWED REVENGE THRILLER

Rating: 6.1/10

Directed by Seiji Tanaka, Demon City is a gritty, action-packed revenge thriller that promises to deliver non-stop excitement. But does it live up to its promise?

The film's strongest aspect is its visuals. The cityscape is a character in itself, with a dark, gothic aesthetic that's reminiscent of classic anime and manga. The action sequences are intense and well-choreographed, with a focus on practical effects that adds to the overall sense of realism.

The cast delivers solid performances, with the lead actor bringing a convincing intensity to his role as a former hitman seeking revenge. The villains, too, are suitably menacing, with their eerie masks and relentless brutality.

However, the film's narrative is where it falls short. The plot is predictable and lacks depth, with underdeveloped characters and a lack of emotional resonance. The pacing, too, is a bit uneven, with some scenes feeling rushed and others feeling overly long.

Overall, Demon City is a stylish, yet flawed revenge thriller that promises more than it delivers. While it's certainly entertaining in parts, it's ultimately a shallow, forgettable experience.

Pretty good. Wasn't my favorite of all time but worth the watch. A little more gorey than I thought as well but I liked it overall.

ONE OF MY FAV ACTION MOVIE, BRUTAL MAMPUSZZZZ

it was okay, definitely unrealistic but it passed the time

Bad

beautiful

There's nothing japanese here except actors and locations.

some really beautiful scenes, but the unrealistic-ness of it all took me out of it

A great watch

soo sad!!

7/10

No words needed 10/10

It was kinda goofy 🤣

Whoever did the score should never been allowed to score a movie again

i love movie like this one

Action from begin to end Toma has always been a great actor but I would say one of his greatest roles

Fight scenes were cool. That’s about it

just drags

Worth a watch but definitely over the top (unbelievable in parts).
