too many big actors, had to give them all screen time.

plots so unnecessary, wasted so much time. halle berry served little to no purpose for plot besides maybe girl boss moment.

this could have been an email.

8.0 - Tense, stylish, crime/heist thrillers are probably my favorite (nano?)genre. They just never really miss.

It’s super derivative & standardized but the chase scenes & robberies had me on the edge of my seat, & the score & pace had my pulse pounding. It just could have benefited from a little earlier resolution & a little less wrap around in the story.

Halle Berry still has it, no matter what Paul Adelstein & Tate Donovan imply. And so does Mark Ruffalo for that matter. And I fall for Monica Barbaro absolutely every time I’ve seen her on screen.

Not to mention, Barry Keoghan plays slimy & unhinged better than almost anyone out there. And I really like the understated, performance about more than just being hot, version of Chris Hemsworth.

With so many home runs in the cast, shoutout to Avy Kaufman, the real MVP (& has always been one of the best in the game).

I’m probably in the minority, but I didn’t even finish it.

Slow, and dare I say……a little boring. Feels like another one of those films where all the best bits were put in the trailer.

I’m sure others will absolutely love it but just not for me. I love a good heist film, theredoesn’t even have to be a lot of action so long as the dialogue keeps me interested. But Chris Hemsworth speaking 3 sentences every 25mins certainly doesn’t do that.

This is not HEAT. Now THAT is a heist movie.

Don’t listen to this grumpy ol man. Watch it, you’ll probably enjoy it.

chris is so good and so hot. movie is definitely missing some, but to the point where i’d expect a sequel, not to the point where im disappointed w the ending. story is decent and everything works out pretty much as you’d expect, but i wanted more. more info, more action, more story building. just missing a little bit that a part two could fill in nicely. i enjoyed overall 7.4/10

A good watch, somewhat run of the mill but a solid effort from all angles. Coulda been a mini-series and worked fine. Worth a viewing if you feel like a decently captivating and semi-action packed crime drama.

The 1 out of '101' reasons as to why I'd recommend this is for its style of genre. I can't explain it, but it's a rarity we don't get often. Similar to 'Heat' or 'Baby Driver', but still very much its own. I rarely hope for a sequel, but I feel it would benefit from one due to some of the almost abandoned subplots. The conclusion is slightly lacklustre, and some of the creative choices, like the 'therapeutic' voiceover, came across as too silly for a clearly serious film. Otherwise, the casting, camerawork, scoring, tension, action sequences, and overall atmosphere all work brilliantly.

Crime 101 is a clean, stylish crime movie with a chill but tense vibe. The story feels smart and focused, with slick robberies and a calm, calculated criminal mindset.

better than most action films, especially in past couple years. it had a lot to say about robbery (both criminal & legal),misogyny, class, war, &corruption. but it was painfully long, ending was absolutely all wrong, & so slow i genuinely jumped out my seat when the credits rolled

loved this film so much.

idk if it’s bc it was shot in my backyard or bc of how fucking beautiful my city looks, or how fucking spectacular the camera movements & shots were making me cum idk.

all i know is this film delivered an incredible thrill.

not many thrillers do. especially of how beautiful every frame is.

the film uses spatially motivated transitions, panning out of one character’s world and organically handing the frame off to another within the same geographic space. it creates the sensation of a living, breathing city, felt like switching from michael to franklin in gtav lmao.

no but really the transitions between lou & davis each putting on the suit cutting back to back at the same time bc they were both going to the same place makes the cinematography speaks so much louder to me. and i fucking loved it.

i could say so many great things about this film, although i wouldn’t want to give too much sauce.

this film hit home. quite literally.

chris, mark & halle, & the entire cast absolutely ate with this. truly nothing negative about this film.

i just fucking loved it sm.

thank you bart for this spectacular film.

9/10 Its like an updated “Heat” (De Niro/Pacino/Kilmer), same plot of a fixated Cop searching for a serial Thief but this time reprised by Hemsworth/Ruffalo/Keogham and Berry. Great cast, loved the story and balanced action. Recommend.

This was so slow. The plot was really good, and I did enjoy the story but it could have been done in a very better way. The acting was great and so was the action. Some really cool shots. I enjoyed the ending but it’s a bit predictable. Overall good but slow paced.

I have absolutely no idea how to get my thoughts about this film down. Everything felt herky-jerky, with very little sense of resolution. I could see what it was aiming for, something in the vein of Heat or LA Confidential, but it missed the mark along the way and left me feeling pretty lost by the end.

The clear highlight, though, is the all-star cast. How can you go wrong with people like Chris Hemsworth, Monica Barbaro, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, Nick Nolte, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Paul Adelstein, and Tate Donovan?

Mark Ruffalo loves playing a worn down cop lol. Halle Berry still serving at 53. Barry plays a chaotic and funny motorcyclist. Overall beautifully shot. Strong start but some plot holes towards the end like how did the detective get on the plane?/intercept the diamonds.

Slow burn and build, felt like “Heat” in parts, one cop vs one criminal, sort of fizzled for me. Was still a good watch, the musical undertone was notable instead of being seamless. 6.5/10
