I’ve never cried so hard in a movie and I’m not one to cry easily. The main actor is young but so talented and broke my heart multiple times from the emotion he portrayed. This is definitely a must-see movie.

while this is probably my favorite movie out of the ones i’ve seen in spain (outside of la haine) i really can’t help but notice how similar all european movies are stylistically. you’d think there was only one director in all of europe

6.8 - A good movie that I had a lot of trouble with.

The type of movie I usually love - lots of strong emotions, dealing with grief, but this was almost too much to swallow. The 1st half is sad, the 2nd half is brutal, & much like real grief there’s essentially no resolution.

Good lord. This thing left me an emotional wreck. Absolutely beautiful. Idk what the rules are for best actor but Eden Dambrine would of been worthy of a legit nomination. This shows what sets A24 apart. They allow directors be as bizarre or subtle as they choose. 9/10

It’s been on my list for so long and i’m so glad that i got to watch it finally. I didn’t expect remi to die i really thought they would have some troubles but they would find their way to each other oh i’m so heartbroken.

I’d been wanting to watch this independent foreign film for a while. One interesting aspect of it is that it’s filmed almost entirely using close-ups and medium shots, with only a handful of wide shots throughout. The story starts off really well, but there comes a point where Leo’s character becomes frustrating to watch. The film explores themes of friendship, homosexuality, and suicide, the latter showing how its consequences can devastate an entire family.

Con close sentí demasiado las emociones de Remi, siento que la idea de plasmar las etapas del luto atraves de los ojos de un personaje como Leo ayuda bastante al espectador para comprender la complejidad de sus emociones.

Somehow I hadn't seen any spoilers.. I don't think I did anything else other than cry during this movie. It was really, really good

“imagine you’re a very small duckling.
you just came out of your shell.
you’ve just opened your eyes for the very first time.
all the ducks are yellow. and so are you.
but you’re much more beautiful than the others.
you’re special.”

oh remi and leo

A24 never disappoints. I love the cinematography and the topic covering grief at a young age, especially for boys in their position

it is SUCH a good representation of grief. I almost wish we got to see more of Rémi and Léo’s relationship, but I also think it had the twist at a good point. Incredibly emotionally damaging 3

A crushing look at friendship, longing and the fears of judgement. The dynamic between Leo and Remi is raw and special, making it all the more painful.
